GALT — November 4, 2026. Two of Galt’s City Council seats have no competing named candidate on the November 3 ballot, according to Sacramento County’s semifinal vote report.
Numbers from the November 4 county update
In District 1, Mark A. Jackson recorded 420 votes and there were 8 write-ins. In District 3, Bonnie Rodriguez received 637 votes, plus one write-in. These are district-level contests, not at-large citywide races.
What the local vote is about
The absence of a second named candidate should not be described as 100% voter support: some voters selected write-ins or left those contests blank. Galt District 5 is a separate, competitive election already covered in California58, where Tom Silva leads Paul Sandhu by 32 votes. The county’s counts are semifinal and remain subject to further counting and certification.
Why these results are preliminary
The reporting snapshot is dated November 4, 2026, at 1:25 a.m. Pacific. Election-night tallies do not account for all ballots accepted during canvassing. Further updates may change the totals. Voters should consult the Registrar of Voters for official certification.
